Greetings
Thank you for visiting our museum.
The act of human faith originated from the time humans led their lives on earth. All religions and beliefs, from the belief in natural objects in primitive societies to the institutionalized religions in modern societies, provide answers to problems that cannot be solved by human ability. The prospects for the future of the universe and man and the question of life and death are at the heart of all religions.
Won Buddhism also tries to give answers to the parts that humans cannot directly experience, from human life and death to the universe. However, Won-Buddhism puts more emphasis on the improvement of human life in this world than on the afterlife.
I value ‘sharing’ because I understand that the basis of my life, from the natural environment that makes up our lives, to social institutions and human relationships, is all about ‘relationships of grace’. In addition, since the practice of ‘sharing’ requires self-control, in Won-Buddhism, people learn by practicing and contrasting ‘mind study’ together.
Won Buddhism is a new religion that originated in Korea only 90 years ago. In order to contribute to the development of human history through reconciliation and cooperation between religions, Won-Buddhism has been carrying out various projects such as industrial, medical, cultural, and arts as well as edification, education, and welfare projects.
Although the history of Won Buddhism is short compared to other religions, the Won Buddhism History Museum was opened to show the activities of Sotaesan and Won Buddhism. We look forward to seeing the history of Won Buddhism, which is developing a new religious image for the future society, here. thank you.
